Incomplete information is a useful starting point too. We identify what is missing and agree which assumptions are acceptable before proceeding.
How we assess confidence in the results
We check convergence and relevant conservation balances, and agree mesh and time-step sensitivity studies to suit the analysis. Where suitable measurements or reference data exist, we compare against them. The report distinguishes numerical verification from validation and explains how model assumptions and data gaps limit the conclusions.
